In Queens Terrace, numbers 1 to 17 on the seaward side date from 1844, and numbers 19 to 33 from 1861. They share an attractive form, with the main entrances approached by railed flights of steps.

These houses, and those in nearby Charlotte Street, were built on land belonging to the Town of Ayr, and known as the Washing Green.

Beyond Bath Place, seaward of the County Buildings, is Place de St-Germain-en-Laye (see p.46). In the small gardens in front is the Royal Scots Fusiliers Memorial, honouring the County's regiment from its formation in 1678 until its amalgamation with the Highland Light Infantry in 1959 to form the Royal Highland Fusiliers.

Beyond the County Buildings is the Pavilion built in 1911
