There is due to be a change in the way that people employed to work with vulnerable groups are registered. The Protecting Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007 introduces a new membership scheme for people who work with children and protected adults. This will replace current disclosure arrangements for people whose post requires an enhanced disclosure.
The Scottish Minister for Children has confirmed that the Protecting Vulnerable Groups Scheme (PVG Scheme) will be effective from 28th February 2011. Full information on the proceedures for basic or enhanced didvlosure and the related administrative arrangements will be found on the Diclsoure Scotland web site.
