Ayrshire Arts Network News Service

Changes to the Web site ~ June 2011

The web site is now attracting well over 1000 visitors each month

From June 2011 we will introduce some new features

For the benefit of local groups and individual practioners, we are offering the possibility of posting reviews of performances and activities as a way to broaden the interest in cultural activities in Ayrshire.  Reviews or comments can be submitted through a dedicated form on the web site.

A further innovation will the introduction of an Arts Calendar that can be used to promote local activities in addition to national events that the network team feel might be of interest to our readers.  Again, information may be submitted using an online form.

The reviews page is now operational and can be found by selecting 'Comments and Reviews' from the main menu.  This calendar is being tested and should be fully operational by 10th June, 2011.

A Google search facility wiil be introduced to assist members seeking information on a specific subject within the website

Web site Upgrade

The increasing use  laptops and LCD monitors allows higher screen resolutions with greater detail in images.

Since the launch of this site we have standardised pages to display most effectively on a computer running Firefox with a screen resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels.

Over the coming weeks the site will be upgraded to serve pages at a higher screen resolution. The new standard will be 1440 x 900 pixels, optimized for viewing in Firefox. This change will allow viewing of most sections of the site without switching to full screen mode.

The first pages in the new format will be available from 19th January, 2011. All pages will be upgraded to the new format over the following 14 days. During the transition period some pages may not fill the full window on the home page.

During the changeover, there will be some rationalisation of the navigation arrnagements any bookmarks in your browser may need adjustment. From time to time, some navigation options may be unavailable during the upgrade period.

Information about national conferences, seminars and exhibitions have been added to the site and will be found through the new link on the Front Page.
