It is understood that South Ayrshire Council
and the Maclaurin Trust have made some changes to the planned closure of
gallery spaces during the final months of 2010.
This is the
latest information available to us:
The Maclaurin Galleries are now closed until the end of March 2011.
Rozelle House is open and the craft shop is now back in the house.
The tea-room will close during January 2011 to allow the completion of essential
electrical work.
Rozelle House will be closed from 24 December, reopening on 5 January 2011.
It is anticipated that the Maclaurin Gallery will re-open at the end of March,
2011 with revised opening hours:
These will be Monday, and Wednesday
to Saturday 10.00am to 5.00pm and Sundays
from 12.00noon to 5.00pm.
The galleries will be closed on Tuesdays
for 'housekeeping' and workshops.
These changes supercede current
information published on the Maclaurin Trust website.
The increasing use laptops and LCD monitors allows higher screen resolutions with greater detail in images.
Since the launch of this site we have standardised pages to display most effectively on a computer running Firefox with a screen resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels.
Over the coming weeks the site will be upgraded to serve pages at a higher screen resolution. The new standard will be 1440 x 900 pixels, optimized for viewing in Firefox. This change will allow viewing of most sections of the site without switching to full screen mode.
The first pages in the new format will be available from 19th January, 2011. All pages will be upgraded to the new format over the following 14 days. During the transition period some pages may not fill the full window on the home page.
During the changeover, there will be some rationalisation of the navigation arrnagements any bookmarks in your browser may need adjustment. From time to time, some navigation options may be unavailable during the upgrade period.
Information about national conferences, seminars and exhibitions have been added to the site and will be found through the new link on the Front Page.
