If you work or volunteer with children, provide health or care services for adults
or provide any other services for vulnerable groups in Scotland then the Protection
of Vulnerable Groups Scheme will affect you.
The new PVG Scheme, which replaces the current
arrangements under Disclosure Scotland, will increase protection for vulnerable
groups by preventing people who are known to be unsuitable from working
with them.
It will replace the existing disclosure process and be quick and easy for
people to use.
The PVG Scheme goes live in February 2011 . Leading up to
this the Volunteer Centre East Ayrshire is offering PVG training to voluntary
and community groups in January.
This training will provide you with information on who should join the
Scheme and when individuals should become Scheme members.
