Inspirational sources and the artist's creative responses.
Three artists will present aspects of their current practice, followed by a plenary session, chaired by Laura Hamilton, Curator at the Collins Gallery, University of Strathclyde. There will be opportunities for questions to the artist after each presentation.

Laura Hamilton studied Art History at the University of
St Andrews and was Curator of Fine and Applied Art and exhibitions at Carlisle
Museum and Art Gallery for 6 years.
Since autumn 1988, she has been Director of the Collins Gallery at the
University of Strathclyde, responsible for the management of the annual
programmes of temporary exhibitions and related events, and the curatorship
of the University’s permanent collections of Fine Art and Historic Scientific
Instruments.
During the past 20 years, she has organised some 200 exhibitions, representing
over 8000 artists and makers from the UK and abroad, and published 80 catalogues.
Freelance teaching commitments include Live Projects for BA and FDA Art
Courses at the University of Cumbria, while various board memberships
include the Advisory Board for the Department of Applied Art at Glasgow
Metropolitan College. |
